IRS Abuse Is Real
Sometimes laws are enacted for one purpose, and then used for others – in ways that legislators never intended. For example, a complicated federal law was designed to catch terrorists and drug traffickers by tracking their cash. Now the IRS is using this law to seize assets of regular people who make a series of cash deposits of under $10,000. These IRS seizures are done without a formal complaint or IRS notice, causing those whose assets are seized to prove their innocence before they get their money back.
